A complete flint Mesolithic tranchet axe sometimes known as a Thames Valley Pick. Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete copper alloy balance arm from a steelyard balance scale (statera) of Roman date (AD 50 - 350). The arm is broken at one end; and the break is patinated suggesting that this occurred during antiquity. The opposite end terminates in an integrally cast circular ring, which is distorted on its lower edge by wear through use. The bar is further distorted by movement in the plough soil. The bar has a faceted oval section and expands and tapers along its length; near the break the cross-section of the bar changes from oval to rectangular. The upper and lower faces are incised…

Copper alloy radiate, possibly a barbarous radiate, of Gallienus (sole reign, AD 260-8) (Reece Period 13), VBERT[AS AVG] (sic), Uberitas standing left. Mint of Rome. Cunetio p. 116, cf 1208. The correct legend is VBERITAS AVG so this coin either represents a mistake by a die-engraver, or the coin is a contemporary copy / barbarous radiate.
