Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable medieval date (1300 - 1550). The weight is rectangular in plan and section. The sides are faceted and the front and rear faces have undecorated rectangular panels present. The base is relatively flat and even. A complete but distorted cast copper alloy belt fitting / strap fitting most probably associated with post medieval purses (purse hanger) or sword belts (AD 1450-1650). The fitting is formed from a single length of cast copper alloy plate that has been folded to form the desired design. A cast copper alloy stud or furniture fitting dating from the Roman period (50-410 AD). The fitting is conical in form being sub-circular in plan and triangular in profile. It is surmounted by a rounded knob / knop / projection. The lower edge is decorated with four arches which conjoin forming a wave like pattern than encircles the lower part of the mount. This design is incised and each arch differs from the next suggesting that the design was irregular and possibly created by the owner. An unidentified artefact of probable Roman date, possibly a fragment of an early bow brooch. Very little survives; it is cast in one piece being sub-rectangular in plan and U shaped in cross section. The upper edge has a sub-rectangular projection extending from one edge. If this were a brooch fragment then the U shape is likely to be the groove to hold the spring and the projection the bow - which would be strip like. The metal is a mid - light green colour with a dusty patina. The artefact measures 12.2mm length, 20.2 mm width is 5.3mm thick and weighs 1.93 grams.
