A complete cast copper alloy double looped buckle of probable later medieval or post-medieval date (1350-1650). The buckle frame is complete being broadly oval (figure of eight) in plan with a slight central bar. The pin is lost but would have been formed from a length of copper alloy sheet that was attached to the central bar by the end being folded to form an irregular 'wrap around' loop. There is a slight notch at the mid point of the axis bar which may have helped centralise the pin. However, there is no decoration present and the frame does not have a pin rest notch on the extant…

From each corner a small pierced triangular tab extends. It is through these four fixing points the mount would have been secured to the surface of a book or possibly a casket / piece of furniture. A near complete but reworked knapped, ground and polished flint axehead of probable later Neolithic date (3000-2000 BC). The axe is knapped from a light grey coloured flint with a milky white coloured surface patina. There is considerable mid orange staining across the reworked surface and this is possibly as a result in the burial environment - possibly indicating deposition within soils that are iron rich or have a predilection towards iron panning / waterlogging. The axe is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and sub-oval (humped) in cross section. In plan the sides of the axe taper fr…

A fragment of a Neolithic partially polished flint axehead or chisel, the cutting edge reworked probably in the Early Bronze Age, and probably after the original object had been damaged, to form a knife, scraper or other tool. It measures 42.32x52.92x13.77mm and weighs 28.92g. The flint is 100% heavily patinated, although the narrow flake removal scars on the retouched face are of a slightly different colour to the patination of the polished areas (towards the cutting edge on this face).
