Milton under Wychwood gold stater hoard
All five coins are early uninscribed Iron Age gold staters of the so-called "Chute" or "British B" type, produced in c. 80-60 BC. The type is published in the standard catalogue of Iron Age coins: Cottam et al 2010, Ancient British Coinage, no 746. Coins of this type are most commonly found in the Hampshire-Dorset area, so the present findspot is interesting as it is located beyond this area.
