They are convex at the front and concave at the rear. The heads are in the form of six lobes/segments/petals defined by grooves with a pellet at the centre. The shanks are square in cross-section. An incomplete Medieval cast silver stud (c. 1400-c. 1500 AD). Treasure case no. 2011 T604. The stud is lozenge-shaped in plan and moulded at the front. It has a lobed border with a worn feature at the centre, possibly a human mask facing forward. The rear surface is flat with an incomplete integral spike, square in cross-section. 18.7 x 15.1 x 7.3mm. Weight: 2.82g. The find contains a minimum of 10% silver and predates 1711. It thus qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of precious metal content and age.
