A complete cast copper alloy unclassified stirrup strap mount of Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date (c. 1000-c. 1100). The mount is roughly pentagonal-shaped in plan and has a rearward projecting flange at the base. At the apex there is a circular fixing hole and there are two other fixing holes through the flange which both contain the remains of iron rivets. Within the angle of the flange there are the vestigial remains of an iron strap. Open work consists of seven circular or sub-circular holes in a roughly symmetrical arrangement.
