A complete, corroded and misshapen copper-alloy needle of unknown date (c. AD 43-1800).
This shaft is circular in cross-section and the eye is flat. The eye has been squashed widthways but appears to have originally been an elongated pear (piriform) shape, wider at the bottom. It has a sharp point.
The needle is green and corroded overall.
Length: 66.5mm; length if straightened: c. 105.0mm; maximum diameter before flattening: 3.1mm. Weight: 3.48g.

Complete bone needle or bodkin of unknown date. Length 112mm, width 15mm and 4mm thick. Weight 5.36g.
The shaft of the implement is sub-elliptical in cross-section and has a spatulated head which is sub-rectangular in cross-section. The lower part of the head is pierced with a circular hole, 5mm in diameter. The surface of one face is largely covered by a shiny patina. The surfaces of the other face and each side are eroded. Found within estuarine silt.
