An incomplete Late Mesolithic to Early Neolithic flint blade tool (6500 BC-2900 BC). This tool has been manufactured on a primary blade and is curved in plan. It has a striking platform at the proximal end. The dorsal face is mainly covered with pale buff cortex and it has been worked along most of the right edge only. The ventral face has part of a bulb of percussion and the ripples are barely visible. At the distal end there is an old transverse break. Length: 60.4mm; width: 19.1mm; thickness: 7.5mm. Weight: 7.84g. Found on a shingle bank within the inter-tidal zone.
