A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) glass polychrome opaque bead (c. 480-580). The bead is cylindrical, flat at each end and has a central circular hole through its centre. It is made of three colours; acid yellow, olive green and white. The three colours have been blended and form wavy bands of alternating colours thus: yellow/green/white/green/white/green/yellow/green. Length: 16.47mm; maximum diameter: 14.75mm; minimum diameter: 13.54mm. Weight: 5.13g.

An incomplete late Iron age or early Roman copper-alloy bead (c. 200 BC-c. AD 100). This bead is bulbous at the centre and has a longitudinal circular hole, c. 2.3mm in diameter. Each end narrows and terminates with a thickened rim. The rim is incomplete at one end and is slightly smaller. Close to this incomplete end two small diametrically opposed circular holes have a diameter of about 1.5mm. The bulbous area has an inscribed lozenge as well as oblique lines forming saltires. An incomplete Roman shale bead (AD 43-410). The bead is annular, circular in plan with a central circular aperture. The aperture has parallel sides and has possibly been drilled. It is sub-biconvex in side profile. Swirling and circumferential grooves may indicate that it was lathe-turned. This bead is shiny and greyish brown with breaks around the periphery. An incomplete Roman semi-translucent fusiform or long bi-conical glass bead (c. AD 200-c. 300). Birley & Greene 2006: 28; Guido 1978: 221-222. The bead has a maximum diameter of 4.2mm at the centre and a diameter of c. 3.0mm at each end. A complete and crudely made Roman copper-alloy melon bead (AD 43-409). The bead is sub-circular in plan and is its height is variable. The sides are curved and have slightly spiralling grooves and ridges. The central hole has a diameter of 5.1mm. This bead is slightly corroded to green and has flecks of a darker green patina. The variability in height may be due to wear. Maximum height: 8.9mm; length: 11.7mm; width: 10.3mm. Weight: 3.10g. Compare with KENT-357FF3; SUSS-278700 and WILT-4F0C6B.

Cast copper alloy ?bead of a truncated convex bicone shape. Diameter 15.6mm, length 8mm. The diameter of the longitudinal perforation is about 5mm. Around the perforation at each apex there is a cicumferential groove and a raised "rib" circumscribes the girth of the bead. The surface has an even dark green patina.

Short cylindrical ?glass bead, black in colour, with convex ends and a relatively large longitudinal perforation. It has a crack and five recently made chips around the girth. Diameter 13.8mm. The perforation is 4.4mm in diameter. Perhaps one of Brugmann's Brown beads, which she dates to her Group A1, 430-550 AD (Brugmann 2004, 74).

An incomplete cast copper alloy bead of possible Roman date (AD 43 - AD 410). Diameter: 11.8mm; thickness: 3.9mm. Weight: 1.77g. The bead is almost circular in plan and the edge has a convex profile. An eccentric circular perforation with straight sides has a diameter of 4.8mm. Part of the bead is missing where there is an old break, perhaps due to a casting imperfection. The bead is in poor condition and corroded overall with scant remains of a mid-green patina. The bead was found at a site where Roman material is frequently located.
