A fragment of a post-Medieval copper-alloy object, possibly a bell (c. 1700-c. 1900). This fragment is irregular in plan due to breaks and may be the upper part of a spherical bell. The main body is convex at the front and concave on the underside. It has a tapering handle or arm, 20mm in length, 18.6mm in width and 4.9mm in thickness. This handle or arm is pointed at the top and hollow on the underside. It is connected to the main body by a pair of double globular mouldings. On the main body and emanating from the mouldings at each side is a pair of raised scroll-like features. …

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy bell (c. 1650-c. 1900). The clapper and its attachment are missing. The undecorated bell is open-ended, with the rim flaring outwards. The upper portion of the bell tapers and has a roughly flat top. A handle/shank protrudes from the top. It has a rounded top and is rectangular in cross-section. Close to the top, the handle is pieced for suspension and the hole contains the remains of an iron axis bar for suspension. This bell is reddish brown and has traces of a green patina. A fragment of a post-Medieval copper-alloy spherical animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800). Part of the suspension loop, part of the upper hemisphere and most of the lower hemisphere are missing. The upper hemisphere appears to be plain and the surviving small portion of the lower hemisphere has a 'sunburst' design. The outer face has a green patina and old scuff marks. The breaks are old. Height: 46.8mm; diameter: 47.5mm; width of suspension loop: 17.7mm; thickness of suspension loop: 6.2mm. Weight: 37.41g.
