A fragment of a post-Medieval copper-alloy object, possibly a bell (c. 1700-c. 1900). This fragment is irregular in plan due to breaks and may be the upper part of a spherical bell. The main body is convex at the front and concave on the underside. It has a tapering handle or arm, 20mm in length, 18.6mm in width and 4.9mm in thickness. This handle or arm is pointed at the top and hollow on the underside. It is connected to the main body by a pair of double globular mouldings. The sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top is about 10.1mm high, 11.9mm wide, 3.8mm thick and has a circular aperture. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided by a prominent horizontal circumferential joining rib. At either side of the suspension loop, about half way down the side of the upper hemisphere, is a circular sound hole. Two sound holes in the lower hemisphere are integral with a sound "slit". A complete and slightly damaged sheet copper-alloy bell (1600-1800). The body is spherical and the upper separate part with a suspension loop has been soldered. At the base, a slit has a sound hole at each end. There is a corroded and irregular shaped iron sound 'pea' within which moves freely. The outer face of the bell is drab brown with flecks of a green patina and flecks of tinning. Height: 25.3mm; diameter: 19.0mm; outer diameter of suspension loop: 6.9mm. Weight: 7.01g.

A fragment of a copper-alloy post-Medieval animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800). This fragment is sub-semi-circular in plan and curved in profile. The straight edge forms the side of the sound slit. The outer face bears a maker's mark: (ring-and-dot) O (ring-and-dot) surrounded by semi-circular grooved border. This fragment has a matt green patina and the breaks appear to be old. Length: 16.38mm; width: 11.31mm; thickness: 1.71mm. Weight: 1.69g.
