A small and complete post-Medieval copper-alloy spherical bell (1600-1800). This bell resembles an animal ('crotal') bell. The sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top is about 5.0mm high, 8.3mm wide and 2.3mm thick. The circular hole for suspension has a diameter of 2.0mm. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided by two horizontal circumferential ridges. At one side of the upper hemisphere there is raised crown and the opposite side has an unclear raised motif. A complete copper-alloy bell clapper of possible post-Medieval date (c. 1500-c. 1800). The clapper has a sub-oval loop at the top which has flat sides. The shaft, c. 25.0mm in length, is circular in cross-section and terminates with a sub-spherical striker. Between the shaft and striker there is a collar. Just below the loop there is some casting debris. Length: 51.9mm; width: 17.0mm; thickness: 11.8mm; diameter of striker: 12.0mm. Weight: 23.30g.
