Incomplete lead alloy ampulla of Medieval date. Length 36mm, width 29mm and 7mm thick. Weight 22.56g. The neck and both loops that allowed the container to be suspended from the wearer’s neck are broken and missing and all breaks appear to be old. The surviving part, the body, is sub-circular in plan and tapers gently towards the missing neck. The convex obverse face has a large central dent and the reverse face is also slightly dented, perhaps deliberately so. The surfaces are heavily corroded, therefore, it is difficult to determine whether the faces were decorated.
