This implement is asymmetrical (sub-triangular) in plan, lozengiform in side view and pointed oval in cross-section. It has a reversed S-shape profile. A large and complete Palaeolithic flint waste flake (500000 BC-10001 BC). This flake is sub-triangular in plan. It has a small portion of striking platform with a percussion scar. Ripples indicate the position of the striking platform. The undulating dorsal surface is completely covered with light brown cortex. The ventral surface is slightly convex, light orange and grey. Modern damage around the edges is probably due to it having been in the inter-tidal zone. Length: 117.5mm; width: 112.0mm; thickness: 32.6mm. Weight: c. 388.0g.

An incomplete Neolithic polished flint axehead (4000 BC-2351 BC). The blade end is missing due to a transverse break. This axehead is sub-rectangular in plan and pointed-oval in cross-section. In plan, the butt is fairly evenly curved. From the butt end the sides flare evenly to the break. Each edge has been polished and flattened throughout its length. This implement, including the broken surface, has an even pale cream patina with some iron staining. Length: 129.2mm; width: 58.3mm; thickness: 32.5mm. Weight: c. 287.0g. (Post Office scales).

The shape in cross-section has been achieved by bifacial reworking on the dorsal surface. This retouch is abrupt and semi-abrupt; short and parallel. There is a minute fleck of buff cortex on the dorsal face This implement is dark with a reddish tinge and is semi-translucent around the edges. Length: 55.6mm; width: 20.5mm; thickness: 12.3mm.
