An incomplete Mesolithic to Neolithic flint blade (c. 8000 BC-c. 3501 BC). The distal end is missing due to a transverse break. The dorsal face has three longitudinal removals all with distinct ripples. The edges have been retouched in places and in places are generally, scaled and low angled. The ventral face has a bulb of percussion over which there is a percussion scar. This blade is shiny, light reddish brown and semi-translucent. The break is old. Length: 34.8mm; width: 26.0mm; thickness: 8.0mm. Weight: 8.07g.

An incomplete and worn Mesolithic to Early Neolithic flint tertiary blade (10000 BC-3501 BC). This blade is curved in plan, sub-triangular in cross-section and has a break at the proximal end. The dorsal face has an off-centre median aris and chipping down both edges appears accidental rather than deliberate retouch. On the featureless ventral face the bulb of percussion at the proximal end is missing due to a break. At the distal end there is a part of a fossil cavity. This blade is orange with paler orange mottling. Surface find within the inter-tidal zone. Height: 53.92mm; wid…

Two complete Late Mesolithic or Early Neolithic flint blades. These blades are not retouched. The larger flint is secondary and the smaller flint is tertiary. Measurements: Large blade: 76.5 x 23.6 x 7.3mm. Weight: 15.92g. Small blade: 52.2 x 13.6 x 3.7mm. Weight: 3.13g. Both blades have a shiny buff patina and the large blade is also partly stained a deep purplish brown. These are surface finds within the inter-tidal zone.

An incomplete flint blade of probable late Mesolithic to early Neolithic date (6500 BC - 2900 BC). The implement is in the form of a long tertiary blade, sub-rectangular in plan with a transverse break at the distal end. The ventral surface has a bulb of percussion with a large scar at the proximal end. Waved ripples are present on this surface but are barely discernable. The dorsal surface has three major longitudinal removals. It is unclear as to which direction the removals were struck. There is no retouch or modification to form a tool. The matt surfaces vary in colour and ar…

Incomplete grey patinated flint blade of prehistoric date, probably Mesolithic (10, 000 BC – 4, 500 BC). Length 72mm, width 38mm and 14mm thick. Weight 31.86g. The ventral surface has a bulb of percussion at the proximal end with associated rippling along the whole length of the blade and the dorsal surface has four major negative flake scars accompanied by prominent arrises (ridges). The distal end is broken and missing. This is probably an old break as the patina over the broken surface is the same colour as that of the other surfaces. There is no evidence that the blade has…
