Incomplete Late Roman copper alloy polyhedral-headed pin, missing part of the shank. It weighs 12.08g and measures 26mm in length. The head measures 11.5x11x11mm, and consists of a cube with the corners cut off (fourteen faces). The shank extends from one face and is circular in section, measuring 3.5-4mm in diameter. It flattens and widens slightly over the curved shank (22mm long) to the break, which measures 5.5x4mm. Most original patina has been lost to show a purley coloured metal beneath. Cf. IOW-7DAEB2, from Brightstone, Isle of Wight.
