A copper alloy late Medieval to early Post-medieval sheet rivet for repairing metal vessels. The rivet has been made from a kite-shaped sheet of copper that has then been rolled to form the cone, the top of which is then folded over to form a head. The coned end would then be inserted into the hole in the vessel and hammered flat to perform the sealing fix. Rolled sheet rivets replaced the earlier folded sheet rivets in pot repairs from the late 15th - 16th centuries (Egan 2005:101) and continued to be used into the 18th century (ibid.).
