A very worn British Iron Age copper-alloy unit of Andoco dating to the period c. 20-1 BC. Eastern (Catuvellauni/Trinovantes). BMC (Hobbs) 2019-2020; Van Arsdell 1871.01. Obverse: ANDOCO (retrograde); Romanised head right. Reverse: [ ]; Horse right, petalled sun above, pellet-in-ring motif below sun. Diameter: 13.3mm. Weight: 0.66g. DA=12:3. Compare with: BERK-842D64 and PAS-55C7BD.

A cast copper alloy openwork mount relating to sword belts. This is one of a pair, its opposite having a hook. When turned on its side, the moon has a face, facing towards the star. The main frame is circular with a six pointed star ovelapping the lower edge of the frame. A circular suspension loop extends from the part of the upper frame. The copper alloy is a degraded lightgreen colour with some reddish-brown patches. The reverse has two prongs, both of which are broken close to the base. Reference: Read's Hooks and Clasps, p. 224, ref 805.
