An almost complete polished stone axehead of Neolithic date (3500 BC – 2100 BC). Length: 102.9mm; width: 40.8mm and 17.0mm thick. Weight: 103.32g.
This slender axehead is sub-triangular in plan and throughout its length it is sub-oval in cross-section. In plan, the butt is pointed but rounded. From the butt the sides flare outwards and downwards to the cutting edge. The cutting edge is evenly curved. There is no evidence that the cutting edge has been re-sharpened. In side view the implement is pointed oval in shape.
