A copper alloy Late Iron Age to early Roman Langton Down brooch fragment. This piece consists of part of the cylindrical spring and spring cover with three turns of spring on each side and the start of the pin. The short length of the bow is decorated with lateral mouldings.

A copper-alloy La Tene I type brooch of Iron Age date (cf Hattatt 2000: fig. 147). The brooch has been cast in one piece, the incomplete spring having been formed by rolling an integrally-cast strip. The bow forms a 'D-shaped' hump. From the head, the width of the bow gradually increases towards the centre point, before decreasing towards the foot. Shallow vertical grooves divide the upper surface into three columns of roughly equal width. At the top of the foot is a rolled 'lip' which would have secured the now-missing pin. A Late Iron Age copper-alloy ?pommel/chape (300BC - AD100). The object is bulbous, with a waisted centre, rising up to two points. The surface is decorated with incised lines rising from the base up to the two points. The waisted section is plain and undecorated. The inside of the object is hollow with a small raised lug centrally positioned. There is an even, dark green patina. Stuart Needham identified similar objects in the Salisbury hoard that are more or less contemporary with the deposition rather than one of the many Bronze Age objects in that hoard.
