Silver thimble fragment, missing domed top, made from silver sheet now pressed out. Plain border roughly engraved Thinke: on with a gap, then a D possibly for the word Death. The body stamped with waffle-shaped indentations leaving a design in reserve of scrolls supporting hearts and flowers. Late 17th Century, of a type commonly reported through the Treasure Act. A silver strap-end of probable 16th or 17th century date. The upper portion has a flat top side, tapering long sides and a central hole containing a domed-head silver rivet. The main portion lies below and takes the form of an inverted drop-shaped plate. At the point where the upper portion meets the lower portion, the upper surface steps downwards slightly. The outer edges of the artefact angle downwards and outwards. The surfaces of the strap-end exhibit numerous file marks. The object meaures approximately 30mm long. No other measurements were recorded.

Solid cast silver sleeve button or cufflink, comprising two discs held by the central shank, the uppermost disc stamped with two hearts beneath a single crown. The hearts are on a speckled background and just touch each other. The crowned hearts are a device associated with the marriage of Charles II and Catherine of Braganza in 1662. A similar button was found in Virginia, USA in the 1960s and published in Noel Hume 1969, fig.22. This object was found in February 2001 and has been acquired by the British Museum, acquisition number: 2002,0711.1
