Report on silver post-medieval thimble from Leigh, Staffs, 2007 T43 Thimble made from thin silver sheet, soldered together, with separate domed section. Regular waffle-shaped indentations and band left plain at edge for engraved inscription/initials to be added. 17th Century.

Thimble with waffle-shaped indentations. Crushed and damaged but a late 17th Century type in form and fracture. As such, due to its age and precious metal content, this object qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
