A Modern silver gilt mount or strap end (post AD1706). The mount is hollow and rectangular in shape, on one surface a decorative plate has been soldered. This plate has a semicircular projection at one end and an equivalent sized and shaped recess from the opposing edge. The decoration on the front plate has been pressed through from the reverse so that it is raised and it depicts a floral pattern. The front plate has also been gilded.
