18th century silver seal matrix
The shape of the seal die handle suggests an 18th Century date. The find dates to later than 1706 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
The arms appear to be a variant of the Hamilton family with the motto THROUGH with crest of an oak tree pierced by a frame saw, and the arms are three cinquefoils.
