Silver-gilt dress hook of tear drop form, pinked border with hollow-cast cushion at the centre decorated with three circles formed in filigree with central knops, arranged around a central knop. Heavily gilded. Complete with recurving hook soldered onto backplate at top and rectangular bar attachment soldered onto the backplate below.
A common type reported through PAS, see an example from Phillack Cornwall, 2004T339 and another from Landkey, Devon, 2004 T425; Treasure Annual Report 2004, nps.262-3.
Conclusion: This object constitutes potential Treasure under the Treasure Act 1996 as it is made of more than 10% precious metal and is over 300 years old.
