Post-medieval silver bodkin made from thin silver sheet, broader at one end with pierced circular opening and longitudinal opening, tapering to a point (broken) at the other. Bent several times along its length. Weight: 1.27g, length: 85mm. The lack of any decoration or initials suggests this is a bodkin rather than a dress pin. 17th Century. A silver fob seal, fluted handle terminating in a single attachment loop. The die engraved with a shield, mantling and crest of a griffin passant. Silver artefact, round with stamped decoration on the front inlaid with glass paste, mostly missing and filled with earth and corrosion. It is obvious from evidence from the reverse that this was a brooch or a button, and it may have been laid into another larger object originally. Although originally submitted for treasure, the Post-Medieval and Modern curators have looked at it and are clear that the stamped decoration suggests a 19th Century date, and therefore this is not within the scope of the 1996 Treasure Act.

A Post Medieval - Modern silver cufflink (18th century). The cufflink comprises two octagonal discs with a loop on each reverse and an interconnecting oval link securing the two discs. Each of the discs has a concave reverse and the front surface is decorated with an engraved pattern. The pattern has a central motif of a six pointed star burst of radiating lines within a scalloped border. There is no maker's mark visible on the link. Treasure Case 2008 T757 "Hollow silver sheet bent into a circle, one side with engraved ornament of leaves and scrolls. It has been suggested that this may have been the mount for a scent bottle made of some other material, or perhaps a pomander, but this is only a hypothesis. A silver seal matrix. The form and engraving suggest a 16th-17th century date. Only the oval printing face survives, the suspension loop having been broken off above fluted base. The die is deeply engraved with unidentified arms, comprising a shield with a chevron and six ?pellets above and three below. Above the shield are the letters 'IS'. The perimeter is marked by a ropework border. It measures 12.5mm high, 10.5mm wide and weighs 3.1g.
