Undated lead alloy fragments, suggesting casting waste. The objects ar irregular in form and sub rectangular in cross section. the smaller two are very indicative of casting waste and the larger object may be a fragment of an object or another by product of the casting process. They are recorded here as they may indicate a previously unknown industrial site . 1) 43mm in length, 32mm wide and 8mm thick with a weight of 36.29grams 2) 35mm in length, 29mm wide and 5mm thick with a weight of 28.36grams 3) 58mm in length, 41mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 71.00grams.

Post Medieval lead alloy window came residue or perhaps other casting waste? The two objects are tri-lobed and consist of two or three cylindrical projections, some with conical terminals. Attached to these are fragments of shaft/sheet with indentations that resemble window came residue. 1) 58mm in length, 47mm wide and 22mm thick with a weight of 101.41grams 2) 49mm in length, 31mm wide and 14mm thick with a weight of 80.41grams.

Undated lead object 40mm long, 35mm wide and 8mm thick with a weight of 25.80g. The object is sub circular in form and rectangular in cross section with a hollow underside. Its surface is decorated with an oval shaped raised line with a worn design inside. Outside long elongated triangles project with short raised lines interspersed, giving a sun-like effect. The object is squashed and its sides are damaged and incomplete, but its overall form suggest a cap or lid ?

Early Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 29mm in diameter 10mm thick and with a weight of 36.40g. The object is circular in form and D shaped in cross section with a partially flattened centre. There is a central circular hole, 10mm in diamater and the object appears to be plain, although it has slight diagonally placed incisions along its curved surface. The object matches Walton Rogers form A2 which she dates to 700-1100 AD.

Roman to early Medieval lead alloy vat 320mm in length 250mm in wide and 130mm high. The object is circular in form and appears to be sub oval in cross section, but it is very distorted. It has a solid triangular cross sectioned rim, aligned so that it has a flat upper surface. This is 11mm wide and tapers into the body below around 10mm from the upper edge. Medieval lead alloy papal bulla issued by Gregory IX (pope 1227-1241), 40mm in diameter and 5mm wide with a weight of 43.85g. The bulla is circular in form and rectangular in cross section. It is decorated on both sides, one with a (now faint) raised motif showing Saints Peter and Paul in ovate beaded borders with the inscription SPASPE (St Paul/ St Peter) above. The other side has the issuers name in raised lettering over three rows. GRE//GORIVS//PP VIIII for Pope Gregory VIIII who was Pontiff from 1227-1241.
