Post Medieval silver whistle? 29mm long and 21mm wide. The object is very squashed but the silver is in good condition. It consists of a hollow sphere which has a prounounced ridge, 3mm wide and 2mm deep, decorated with deep notches running around it. There is a small solid shaft,12mm long, protruding from the object on the same axis as the ridge which has a small triangular protrusion near to the base. Firstly is a circular cross sectioned hollow whistle with a semi-circular air hole in its upper surface. Undated copper alloy wheel part, 47mm long, 43mm wide and 3-6mm thick. The object is in good condition with a green/brown patina and weighs 116 grams. The object is shaped like half a tube, rectangular in form and semi-circular in section. Each end has a raised lip c.4mm deep. Its external face has three distinct surfaces, the central one has a rectangular recess and appears to be designed to hold the object in place. One side of the object, around the lip, has clear signs of wear, consistant with rotation and the whole of the inner surface has been worn smooth.

The object has a raised border about 8mm in from the edge, this is overlain with four elipses, that continue to the edge, arranged like a flower. There are small raised dots scattered around this seemingly at random. The weight is described as a 'Floriated cross weight' by Norman Biggs and he says it dates to the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.

Leady alloy weight, 23mm long and 22mm wide with a thickness of 5mm and a weight of 32grams. The weight is rectangular in shape with straight sides. It has a smaller raised rectangle on one face, which appears to have been added, perhaps to increase the weight? The weight also has some damage, with a straight line cutting into the surface at an angle along the upper side. The weight is in a fair condition with a greyish patina.

Post Medieval copper alloy trade weight, 33mm in diameter and 5mm thick. The object is in good condition and weighs 25.61grams. The weight is circular with tapering sides and a raised lip. It is a Georgian provincial weight as its bears the GR crowned mark. It has been over-stamped with the word AVOIR for Avoirdupois meaning 'goods of weight' which was probably done in 1826 when the new Imperial standard was introduced.
