Medieval lead alloy disc weight, 35mm in diameter and 5mm thick. The weight has a greyish patina and is decorated with a raised design. The object has a raised border about 8mm in from the edge, this is overlain with four elipses, that continue to the edge, arranged like a flower. There are small raised dots scattered around this seemingly at random. The weight is described as a 'Floriated cross weight' by Norman Biggs and he says it dates to the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.

It is circular with straight sides and has a large raised cross, 10mm high, on its upper surfac. It weighs exactly one pound. There are similar examples in the David Rogers book 'Lead Weights' however, he makes no attempt at dating them and say they could be Iron age or eighteenth century!
