Roman copper alloy stylus? fragment, 56mm long, 9mm wide at the base and 3mm in diameter. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 2.53 grams. The object consists of a circular sectioned shaft, 3mm in diameter, which is bent slightly in its centre. The shaft terminates with an integral sub rectangular plate which tapers in width to form a thin edge, 9mm wide. The plate appears to be worn and probably had a straight edge originally, this and the fact that the other end is broken off, suggests the object may be a stylus.
