Medieval silver penny fragment of the 12th century. The coin is most likely either a 'Watford' type of Stephen (1135-54) (N873) with fleurs in each angle of the reverse, or a Henry II (1154-89), cross-and-crosslets 'Tealby' type, the former bebing more likely. However, the coin is fragmentary and very poorly struck and this is uncertain. In addition, there is the possibility the coin may belong to David I of Scotland (1124-53) who struck similar coins to Stephen's Watford type with fleurs in each angle of the reverse.
