Medieval or post medieval lead alloy cloth seal, 14mm long, 12mm wide and 6mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a grey patina and weighs 6.55 grams. The object is sub-circular in form and slightly tapers in width. It is decorated on both sides with a pattern of raised lines arranged in rectangles. There is a small rectangular hole set into the edge where it is widest.

The seal is a two part type consisiting of two discs held together by a narrow strip. They have been folded over to seal them and one side has faint traces of the impression. The letters I,O and possibly N can be seen.

The object is a two part seal, consisting of two discs with a strap joinging them. One side is decorated with arope effect border which contsins the letter V above an ox? rearing up facing left. The other side contains traces of a shield, whose upper half is decorated with rectangles containing dots. The shield sits on a dotted border.

It is decorated with a thistle which probably represents the Duke of Lennox, who along with the Duke of Richmond was responsible for alnaging from 1605. Alnaging is the Official inspection and measurement of cloth.

It appears to carry a royal crown with initials which look to be CR, but is more likely a poor G for one of the Georges. It reads '682 England' around the crown and has two initials on teh other side.

The seal appears to have orginally been circular and is made up of two discs. One side is decorated with a foliate design and is inscribed in the middle DOUAI, its place of origin. The other side had a central design resembling a palm tree and eyes which appears to be surronded by an inscription which may contain a K and possibly a date 1550?

The object consists of two circular discs of lead which are joined by a thin strip. One is complete and shows the English royal crest with an E visible to the left. This is surrounded by an inscription, some of which can be read OMALIE'LON. The other side has only a small portion remaining, where it was pressed onto the cloth and possibly shows the crest for London in a decorative border.
