Post Medieval silver Bosans whistle, 31mm long, 11mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a silver patina and weighs 2.7grams. The object is a Tudor period whistle which is formed of a circular hollow, made up of two pieces of metal with a joining ridge running around it. There is a small void along the upper part of this ridge. The whistle has a circular sectioned shaft which has two bands of raised metal, one centrally and one forming the mouthpiece at the end. The object is roughly cast in a shield shape and has a slight raised outer border. The upper part of the inner shield shape is formed of two semi-circles There are very faint traces of further decoration inclduing an incised dashed line forming a border under the semi-circles and what may be a rampant lion?

It has a protrusion in the centre of its upper surface with a clear raised line running vertically down its length. This may have been a cross motif at some point but is now worn.

Medieval lead trade weight, 56mm long, 42mm wide and 13mm thick with a weight of 213grams. The object is triangular in form (shield shaped) and rectangular in cross section. It is very worn, but the traces of a raised rim around its edge can be seen, as can the moulded plantagenet crest of three lions on its surface. The weight has a circular suspension hole in the centre of its flat upper side. 213grams equates to about 7.7oz so this object was probably originally used as an 8oz weight.
