Possible Iron age copper alloy strap fitting, 74mm long, 47mm wide and 3.5mm thick. The object is incomplete and has a brown patina. It consists of two pieces of curved metal, which when complete probably formed circles. The metal has D shaped section and is 8mm wide and 3.5mm thick. Where these two pieces join together there is a 'coffee bean' shaped motif, a domed oval with a straight line cut along the centre of its length, 10mm long. Where the two pieces curve to form circles the object has been 'braced' by a bar, 35mm long and 4mm thick, which has a hollow centre, to allow straps…

Copper alloy object made up of three spherical balls c. 10mm in diameter, joined together by small rods 3mm wide and c. 6mm long. The whole object is about 22mm in diameter and has been roughly cast. This is probably a strap union or junction. These are usually Roman in date but the style of this makes it more likely to be Iron Age (pers comm Dr J. D. Hill). Recorded at the Hidden Treasures roadshow in Market Harborough. A similar object has been recorded on the database at SF-3AB401.

Late Iron Age or Roman copper alloy strap fitting, 30mm long, 28mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 13grams. The object appears to be incomplete, this object possibly representing half of the whole? What is present consists of two sets of two domed motifs, (the lower ones appear slightly larger) contained within oval (tear) shaped raised borders. Each set of two is separated by a flat elongated triangular sheet, which begins half way along one of the motifs and flares outwards to where the object has broken. The reverse is flat except for small hollows corresponding to the two l…
