It has short angular wings with a central depression to take a hinge dpin. The bow is wide and flat with a rectangular cross section. Roman copper alloy bow (dolphin) brooch, 40mm long, 33mm wide and 12mm thick with a weight of 9.85grams. The brooch is missing its spring and pin. Its wings are each decorated with a diagonally placed incised line whichs runs upwards towards an incised horizontal border near the edge. The bow which has a D shaped cross section is decorated with a raised ridge running its length, which is decorated with a series of horizontal notches. The bow widens out into the curving catchplate which is missing its catch.

Roman copper alloy hinged bow (dolphin) brooch, 40mm long, 33mm wide and 18mm thick with a weight of 23.29grams. The brroch consists of solid circular cross sectioned wings with a recess for a pin (the terminal of which is still present). These are decorated with two incised vertical lines at each end. The bow is plain and is D shaped in cross section. It is damaged and the lower part and the catchplate are missing.

Early medieval copper alloy brooch fragment, 21mm long, 12mm wide and 7mm thick with a weight of 4.56 grams. The object forms most of the headplate of a brooch consisting of a rectangular plate which has slightly bevelled edges. At one side there is an integral spherical knop with a raised collar, which sits proud of the upper surface of the headplate. The underside of the plate has a semi-circular projection running from underneath the knop, to the far side, in whose centre is an in complete circular suspension hole, designed to take the pin.

Roman copper alloy hod hiill brooch fragment dating to the first century. , 27mm long, 11mm wide and 5mm thick and weighing 2.18grams. The object represensts the base of a brooch and consists of a 'kite' shaped flat plate which has a moulded collar at its upper end. It is decorated with a series of diagonally placed short incisions running in a row down the centre of teh object and running down into its triangular base. The reverse of this holds a catchplate, which appears complete, but the front may be missing a small knop or projection?

Roman silvered copper alloy bow brooch, 36mm long, 16mm wide and 8mm deep with a weight of 5.70grams. The brooch has largely intact open wings, missing the spring, which are silvered. It has a triangular corss sectioned bow, which forms a gently curving outer face that is decorated with two raised lines of rope like decoration, which merges together as it approaches the rounded stepped foot. The catchcplate is intact with a complete return running its length and emerges from the central ridge running down the inner face of the bow.

Roman copper alloy brooch fragment, 25mm long, 21mm wide and 12mm thick with a weight of 9.26grams. The brooch consists of circular cross sectioned wings which appear hollow, which has a rectangular pin slot cut out of its centre. Below this the bow is sub circular in cross section and has a broken rectangular protrusion emerging on its reverse? just below the pin slot. The only sign of decoration is a horizontal ridge running across teh front of the wings and a possible linear recess near the end of the intact wing, running across the underside from the ridge.

Inside this is a Mammen style bird with a rounded elongated body which narrows into a long thin neck, its head with a projecting lappet, resting on its chest.
