Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands), cf.Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b, 4c, Plate 46. It is 21mm long, 21mm wide and 11mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 7.87grams. The brooch consists of plain semi-circular wings which contain a spring of 9 coils. The bow sits on a curved protrusion and is semi-circular in form. The bow is un-decorated and tapers to a point. It is missing the lower bow and catch plate.

It has slight triangular protrusions at each side and has a triangular upper half. It has a broken circular hole at the apex of this and two complete holes near the base. There is a small worn lip protruding from the base of the reverse. It is very worn but probably Williams Class A, type 1.

The object consists of a central solid rectangle, which has a circular hole through its centre. On either side of this is a short integral shaft which starts with a rectangular form and section, but then flares out to form a triangular terminal. The surface of these shafts have linear incisions and the central area has two cross shaped incisions on one side.

The object consists of the upper part of the bow. It begins with a circular sectioned shaft which sits above a sub rectangular plate. This has a narrower lower section which is set back slightly giving the fragment an S shaped section. There are traces of a possible raised band running down the centre of the upper half, but otherwsie the object appears plain.

The brooch has circular sectioned wings with a spring of 12 coils. The wings are decorated with a centrally placed band consisiting of an incised border containing a herringbone like pattern. The bow is sub circular in secion and has a ridge on its upper portion. It is decorated with several incised lines running its length and has a rounded terminal. It has a sub triangaluar catchplate and a pin, both of which are intact.

Medieval copper alloy vessel spout, 85mm long, 17mm wide and 16mm thick. The object is in good condition with a green patina and weighs 67grams. The object is circular in section with an 'L' shaped form. It consists of a circular tube which protrudes from the mouth of a hound, which has rounded, upwards facing ears. Behind the dogs head the tube widens slightly and curves downwards. At this point it is cut away, becoming semi-circular sectioned and tapering to a rounded point.
