A worn copper-alloy Roman radiate of Victorinus (AD 269-271), dating to the period AD 269-271 (Reece period 13). Probably PROVIDENTIA AVG reverse type depicting Providentia standing left holding cornucopiae and baton over a globe. Mint II. As Normanby no. 1445A. The coin has a series of circular pits on the obverse, one at the centre of the flan that pierces the coin forming a neat circular hole. The central hole appears to be more deliberate, and while it is plausible that the other pits on the obverse could also be deliberate post-depositional corrosion or damage cannot be ruled out…
