Medieval? copper alloy object, 23mm long, 13mm wide and 1mm thick. the object is in fair condition with a dark brown patina and weighs 1.34grams. The object is sub triangular in form and has a ridge along its longest straight edge where something has snapped off. Its surface is decorated with a line of six incised ring and dot motifs running its length with a further one on each side near the wide edge. It has a narrower straight edge at its other end which also appears to be detacthed from something. It could be a buckle plate or a book fitting?

The plate is rectangular in form and section, but has damaged edges. The two plates are joined by an integral rectangular shaped protrusion which is rectangular in section with a semi-circular end, This would have held the plate onto the buckle. The plate has two circular copper alloy rivets close to its lower edge.

Medieval copper alloy single loop buckle, 30mm long, 23mm wide and 3mm thick. brown patina weighs 4.10grams. The buckle is sub rectangular in form and rectangular in section. It has an integral recessed pin bar and has a decorated pin rest. The rest which is the widest part has two sets of three diagionally aligned incised lines, sitting on raised rectangular sections, between which the pin would sit. This matches No 92 in buckles 1250-1800, and dates to 1250-1400.

The plate is decorated on one side with four sets of raised lines, two running diagonally, one vertically and one horizontally which cross in the centre. The buckle dates to 1620-80 and matches fig. 529 in 'Buckles 1250-1800' by Whitehead, R.

The bar has a rounded bulge in its centre which accomodates a hole and at the far end it terminates in an elongated triangular terminal, which has three smaller holes in its centre.

Early Medieval copper alloy and garnet buckle tongue, 28mm long, 15mm wide and 6mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 8.09grams. It consists of a sub-circular plate with a rectangular section which has a small circular slice of garnet set in its centre. It has a stepped terminal ( forming a rectangular edge) sitting above a semi spherical shaft, c.17mm long and 6mm wide, that turns downwards and is missing its end. The reverse has the remains of a rectangular fitting near its far end, which would have attached it to a buckle plate.

Medieval copper alloy buckle, 28mm long, 23mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 6.01grams. The buckle is sub rectangular in form and section and has a narrow recessed pin bar which sits opposite a wide, three lobed pin rest, joined together by curved side bars.

A medieval copper alloy buckle, 24mm long, 20mm wide and 4mm thick. The buckle is in fair condition and weighs 2.97grams. The buckle is D shaped with a rectangular section and a slightly recessed pin bar. It widens to a two lobed pin rest in its centre and the lobes and the rest of the surface are individually cross hatched with deep incisions. See Egan (2007) no. 792

Medieval copper alloy buckle fragment, 25mm long, 19mm wide and 2.5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.82grams. The object consists of a curved, rectangular sectioned plate, which is wider its broken end (centre of buckle). At the other end it widens to a sub triangular terminal which accomodated a bar, the stump of which can just be seen. The surface is decorated with an incised pattern of a solid border with transverse lines cut through by a long line with a spiral terminal.
