Neolithic stone axe fragment, 67mm long, 46mm wide and 25mm thick. The object is in a poor fragmentary condition and weighs 82grams. The object consists of the central part of a polished axe which is badly chipped. It is rectangular in form and rectangular in section, with narrow flat polished edges. The source material is possibly Charnwood.

Three undated stone whetstones, all are incomplete - missing their ends, have a rectangular section and rectangular form and show signs of heavy use. 1 56mm long, 11mm thick and 20mm wide, weight 32.07grams. 2 90mm long, 17mm thick and 33mm wide weight 117grams 3 90mm long, 20mm thick and 27mm wide, weight 99.3grams.

Neolithic stone axehead, 139mm long, 50mm wide and 37mm thick. The object is complete and in good condition and weighs 374grams. The axe has a triangular form and an eliptical section and is made from a form of fine granite. The butt end tapers gently to a rouned apex and the whole surface is gently rounded. At one side of the blade there is a trace of a facet and the blade itself is intact and finely worked. Around the blade is considerable poloishing, slightly more on one surface than the other.

Early Medieval?? stone grave marker. 190mm long, 120mm wide and 70mm thick. The object has a roughly rectangular form and semi circular cross section. The left side (as photographed) is quite rectangular and the object slopes across its face to a more rounded and shallower right side. It has a flat and plain reverse and its upper and lower edges are damaged or roughly hewn. In the centre of its face is a carved cross with a v shaped recess. The most obvious use for such an object would be as a grave marker.

Neolithic polished stone axe fragment, 51mm long, 44mm wide and 14mm thick with a weight of 37.47grams. The fragment represents part of the blade end of an axe, but is very damaged with little original surface remaining. It has part of the curved blade which merges into the adjoining facetted edge, which has a thin angular face butting up to the rounded surface. The axe appears to be Langdale slate (fine grained tuff), so it could be part of a group VI axe.

Neolithic polished stone axehead, 78mm long, 49mm wide and 22mm thick. The axe is in fair condition, is almost complete and weighs 103grams. The axe head is triangular in form and sub rectangular in section. It has a bulging, rounded form with narrow straight sides. One face has a clear crescent shaped platform located along its width below the blade. The blade is intact and has a gently curving edge.
