Medieval lead alloy Ampulla, 55mm long, 27mm wide and 11mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 46.87grams. It is bag shaped with a sub rectangular form and has the remains of two lugs positioned about halfway down. The surface has unusual decoration, one one side it has curved bands with upright linears seperating fluer like motifs, possibly representing a crown? The other side is more worn but its lower half has joined raised rectangles, in a sub triangular form, perhaps representing a net?

It is decorated on one side with a very faint three or four petalled flower motif and on the other with a crown with a large central fleur. The crown suggests a link to the Virgin Mary and probably Walsingham.

Medieval lead pilgrim's ampulla, 33mm long, 33mm wide and 13mm thick. The object appears complete, but is folded in half, and weighs 41.52g. The ampulla is bag shaped with no visible lugs. It is clearly decorated on both sides. One side shows what appears to be an ornate crowned letter T. The other has a fleur in a circular border which is surrounded by a band of small raised stars.

The ampulla represents a circular shaped bag with a small rectangular neck. The neck has one suspension loop protruding from it. The bag has two circular ridges around its edge on both sides. These contain traces of decoration. One side is decorated with a shield showing a single, central chevron. The other is more faded, but has traces of raised angular lines which may show a star of David. The scanned image attached shows a similar example found …

Medieval lead alloy Walsingham pilgrims ampulla, 50mm long, 31mm wide and 7mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a cream patina and weighs 36.16grams. The ampulla is bag shaped and quite flat and it has some damage to one of its upper sides. The ampulla is decorated on one side with a raised crown which has an area of cross hatching below it. The other side has a raised W which is also surrounded by cross hatching. It has one remaining lug which is triangular in form, 9mm long and protrudes for 5mm.

The object is round in form and is missing the upper edge, though one lug can still be made out. Although this is damaged it appears to be intact and appears to be still full. It is decorated on one side with a series of raised lines, two prominent lines appear to form a 'vase' shape with curving tendrils emerging from it.
