Object type: RING
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Leicestershire
Workflow stage: Published
A thin gold ring shaped object, with ornate spiralled design and oval lilac stone setting. Dark areas indicate that this object could consist of gold leaf over another material. This may not have originally been a finger-ring; the material is extremely thin, too thin to conceivably be used to construct a finger-ring.
It is indicated that the item has been straightened and glued, making identification difficult. The object is not in its original state and so identification in the current condition could be misleading and therefore there is no evidence to date to pre 1711.
