Medieval gold finger ring, with a hoop 26mm long, 14mm wide and 5mm in thickness with a weight of 1.25g.
The hoop has a D shaped, bevelled cross section and is decorated on its upper rounded surface with alternate pellet and cross stamps. It has a sub triangular shaped bezel with a circular cross section, 5mm high and in diameter. Where it joins the hoop there are a slight tapering ridges, two on each side emerging from the base of the loop. The bezel is an inverted domed shape at this point and then it forms a swollen rounded collar which holds a cabochon pinky red stone, probably a …
