Early Medieval copper alloy Cross potent small long brooch dating to 6th century. The object is 60mm in length and 28mm wide. The pin is missing and the catchplate is slightly damaged. The brooch has been broken in two about half way down, towards the bottom of bow and is held in place by a modern repair. The brooch has a rectangular head plate which has incised lines running parallel to its edge. It has a trilobed cut out in each top corner, about 10mm deep. Gilded Copper alloy crucifix, 22mm high and 25mm wide. The top bottom and left edges of the cross are missing, but the right side is intact. It is D shaped in profile and ends in a cruciform shaped terminal with most of the gilding intact. The Christ is quite crudely made, but a lioncloth can be seen on the figure, which is in the classic pose of head bowed to the right and knees bent to the right. Complete bow brooch with exposed spring. It has a complete pin and catchplate and dates to 1st century AD. Its 35mm wide and 60mm long and made of bronze. The brooch is formed by a bar (called a wing) which is 35mm across and circular in profile. This forms the head of the brooch and houses the spring. Coming down from the centre of this is the comma shaped body which starts 10mm wide and tapers in towards its end. Copper alloy brooch of a horse, 38mm long and 28mm high, 2nd Century. The horse is flat and facing right, its missing its legs and tail. It has a narrow head with wider neck and shoulders. At the base of the shoulders is the broken off front leg which faces forward. The underside is very straight and the centre of the torso is narrow. towards the hind quarters this curves downwards to the broken off back leg. Silver trefoil shaped mount consisting of three domed openwork roundels. The mount has a straight rolled edge which is 20mm long, at each end just below this is a attatching hole and in the centre is a semi circular void about 5mm wide. Fragmentary copper alloy sheet 39 x 43mm at widest part. The object has some original edge present but is so damaged it is imppossible to suggest an original shape. It does have one fixing hole present and you can just make out the shape of a keyhole on the left. Below the keyhole void is an oblong of cross hatching carved into its surface (some can just be made out above the void as well) and to the right is a triangluar shape with incised circles filling it. Medieval Copper alloy spout from a water jug, 86mm long, 20mm wide and 18mm high (at widest points). It is formed in the shape of a dogs head with a tube protruding from its mouth. This example has a very flat square head with a serated ridge running its length. It has triangular shaped floppy ears and no eyes. At the neck it narrows considerably and then it widens out into a funnel which points downwards forming a crescent shape. Recorded at the hidden treasures roadshow at Market Harorough.

Medieval Copper alloy shield shaped mount, 23mm wide and 27mm high. The object is very worn, it has some damage on the upper right side and only a trace of the suspension loop can be seen. The decoration is made up of a raised chequerboard with a quarter in the upper left side. The quarter contains five hollowed circles (one in each corner and one in the middle). These circles and the chequers would have originally been enamelled, but no trace remains. The raised surfaces have traces of gilt and some can be seen on the plain reverse. An incomplete Roman copper alloy zoomorphic (duck) plate brooch, representing a duck floating on water. Most of the wings and body of the bird are intact, but the neck and head are missing. It is roughly triangular in plan and curves downwards at each side to represent the wings. The back of the bird has a long central ridge 3mm wide, running down its length. This ridge widens slightly at the tail end which is square and there is a circular recess with a diameter of 2mm on the tail. There are slight traces of white metal coating close to this recess. Gold 15th-century posy ring, 18mm in diameter, with a hoop of consistent width throughout. The exterior surface is decorated with an unbroken groove running along the upper and lower edge, with floral sprays engraved into its surface in between. Punctuating the decoration are three black-letter words. One is easy to read, 'a'; another may be 'ma'; the third appears to be 'vie' which would read 'a ma vie' (to my life, or [he/she] has my life). Compare LANCUM-082840 and PAS-9E5727.

Copper alloy Roman button-and loop fastener, Wild Class II (1970). It has a ring head and a triangular loop which is 23mm long and the width of each side is about 3mm wide. The loop turns 90 degrees at the head and narrows to a rod which is about 3mm wide and rises 5mm. The rod turns 90 degrees back to its original orientation at the ring-head which has an external diameter of 20mm and an internal diameter of 10mm hole. The object is quite corroded.

Copper alloy circular mount 24mm in diameter. It has a central raised boss, 5mm high. The central boss is plain and 6mm wide. It terminates in a small ridge from which long raised lines with rounded ends radiate. These lines are of varying length, giving the appearence of candle drippings, these stop about 5mm from the edge. The edge is decorated with round pellets, 2mm wide. The under side of the mount has a square pin still intact. 'Recorded at the Hidden Treasures roadshow in Market Harborough.'
