Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 27mm in diameter, 15mm wide with a weight of 42.19grams. The object is circular in form and bi-conical in cross section with a central hole, 9mm in diameter. The whorl has some damage or is mis-cast on one face and is decorated on both sides with a raised design of chevrons, some which overlap and are interspersed with raised dots. The form matches Walton Rogers form C, which she dates to the Medieval period..

It is decorated on both faces, its very worn, but appears to be a border of circles and semi-circles along the edge on one face and a series of raised chevrons and dots on the other. Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 37mm in diameter and 11mm thick with a weight of 44.56g. The object is circular in form and bi-conical in cross section. It has a central circular hole, 11mm in diameter which forms the central feature of its decoration. This consists of a raised 'lozenge' a rectangle with concave sides. Each corner terminates in a semi-spherical knop and in the centre of each edge there is a small projecting raised line which also terminates in a knop. The whorl conforms to Walton Rogers Form C which she dates to 1100 onwards.
