Medieval? copper alloy hinge, 62mm long, 7-25mm wide and 1mm thick. The object has a blotchy corroded surface which is red and green. The object is formed of an elongated triangle which has a circular terminal 17mm in diameter. At its base there is a protruding piece of metal, 10mm wide, which has been folded to form a hinge. Below this are two rivets, one placed at each end of the hinge. There is a small circular hole in the terminal which probably held a third rivet. There are possible traces of decoration on this terminal which appear to form a star shaped design.
