The object is sub rectangular in form and cross section and consists of a circular (c.20mmin diameter), rectangular cross sectioned plate which is undecorated. From the centre of its underside a triangular openwok loop emerges. This has a circular cross section and has its apex fixed to the plate, after which it bends to one side and projects past the plate. The object is similar to Wild class Vc, which has been dated to the second century..

Roman copper alloy button and loop fastener of Wild Class Vc. It is circular in form and D shaped in cross section. Its upper edge is domed with a central circular depression. Its lower surface is flat and has the remains of a circular sectioned shaft emerging from its centre. This would have formed a triangular shaped attachement loop. It is 24mm in diameter, 10mm thick and weighing 9.31 grams. The object is in fair condition and is incomplete.

Iron Age copper alloy petal button and loop fastener of Wild Class III. The petal part of the button is like a shallow bowl and has a circle of copper alloy sitting in the dip. This vaguely resembles a spiral. The loop fastener is trianglar in form. There is evidence that the button/fastener was decorated with red and yellow enamel.

Romano-British copper alloy button and loop fastener, 24mm long and 14mm wide. The object is in a fair condition, being worn and incomplete, and has a brown patina. It consists of a rectangular sectioned shaft which curves 90o. This is attached to the underside of a loop which is semi-circular in section and c.5mm wide (with a central hole of 7mm). The further end of this loop is elongated to a point and on its upper side has a globular protrusion.

A Roman button and loop fastener, of Wild's Class IV. The object consists of a domed circular 'button' which is 17mm in diameter and 6mm deep. A triangular 'loop' protrudes from the edge of the underside of the button and then turns 90o and forms an open triangle 37mm long and 17mm wide. The object represents the loop portion and is roughly triangular in shape. It has a triangular opening 16mm long and 11mm wide, surrounded by a frame with a square section. Below this the object consists of a shaft 20mm long, that narrows gently. It has snapped off at the end, leaving a small circular bump where the button would have been attached.

Copper alloy Roman button-and loop fastener, Wild Class II (1970). It has a ring head and a triangular loop which is 23mm long and the width of each side is about 3mm wide. The loop turns 90 degrees at the head and narrows to a rod which is about 3mm wide and rises 5mm. The rod turns 90 degrees back to its original orientation at the ring-head which has an external diameter of 20mm and an internal diameter of 10mm hole. The object is quite corroded.
