Post Medieval silver Venetian coin re-used as a brooch, 39mm in diameter, 2mm thick and weighing 22.63grams.
The coin is a Ducato issued by Ludovic Manin, who was the last Doge of Venice 1789-97. It shows the lion of St Marc on the obverse -DVCATVS VENETVS and St Marc and the Doge on the reverse -S M V LVDOVCVS MANIN D B.
The coin has a pin hinge and part of a catchplate attached to the reverse side of the coin.

Post medieval silver ring brooch, 26mm in diameter and 3.5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 1.89grams. It is slightly domed and is decorated with simple incised borders at each edge on its outer side. These is a small circular hole to accomodate the pin. The underside is stamped with a lion passant (for sterling which dates it to after 1544) and possible makers initials CM?
