Fragment of a Roman ceramic imbrex roof tile. 80mm in length, 90mm wide and 35mm thick with a weight of 289grams. The fragment is bright orange in colour and sub rectangular in shape. The underside of the fragment is fairly rough with a rectangular area of parallel grooved lines, whereas the upper facing surface is smooth. The upper surface has a curved edge on the left hand side of the tile.

One surface has an incised pattern consisting of six parallel grooved lines in the centre with a series of short lines diagonally placed atone side and a series of thin chevrons on the other.

Roman ceramic tile fragment, 280mm in length, 190mm wide and 40mm thick with a weight of 3200g. The tile is sub rectangular in form and cross section. Its upper surface has two sets of three small ovoid depressions which could be an animal paw print, but may be also be interpreted as finger tip impressions. Alan McWhirr noted these were used as tally marks or makers marks throughout the Roman world (See McWhirr 1984 p 99).

Possible Roman ceramic oil lamp c. 90mm long. The lamp is circular in form and sub circular in cross section. It has a small sub- triangular shaped spout like projection at one side with a circular hole in its upper surface and on the opposite side is a solid semi-circular handle. Neolithic or Bronze age ceramic vessel sherd, 51mm long, 38mm wide and 12mm thick with a weight of 29.29g. A body sherd with large, irregular calcite inclusions in an earthy, uneven body. It varies in colour from a cream/buff inner surface, brown/beige body to an orange outer surface. It is decorated with two sets of parallel depressions interrupted by at least one transverse pair of depressions. Possibly late late Neolithic to early Bronze age grooved ware?

A fragment of a medieval ceramic vessel, 24mm in length, 53mm wide and 11mm thick and with a weight of 57.12grams. The fragment consist of an intacg 'bung hole' form a pitcher or jug with a slight amount of body attached to it. The hole is 20mm in diameter and is framed by a rectangular cross sectioned rim which projects c.12 mm from the body. The fabric is highly fired and has quarts inclusions. The outer surface is a grey colour and the core is a pale orange. Probably Medieval in date.

Roman ceramic bowl or cup fragment, AD 250-410. Length: 44 mm, width: 49 mm, thickness: 4 mm, base diameter: 35 mm. The bowl is incomplete but enough remains to see its form. It has an intact rim, whcih curves down towards the bowls base. This sits on an intact solid 'pedestal' which widens towards its base. The bowl/cup has a fine orange fabric and a brown slip. It has been roughly turned and has wire marks on its underside. Its colour fits it being a Nene Valley colour coat vessel or more southerly equivilent.

Roman ceramic roof? tile fragments, total dimensions 82mm in length, 50mm wide and16mm thick. The two fragments do not seem to match, but may be from the same tile. They have a deep red colour and a fine fabric. They have a rectangular cross section but when viewed in profile have an S shaped curve. Each fragment has a central rectangular depression with an inscription. One tile reads OR and the other one A I.

It has traces of a stamped geometric design which has been filled with white slip and surrounded by a dark glaze.. Given the form its probably a Cruciform motif.
