Iron age to Roman copper alloy votive axe, 15mm long, 9mm wid eand 5mm thick with a weight of 2.62grams. The object is rectangular in form and oval in cross section, with rounded long edges. It has a flat oval butt end around which sits a protruding rounded collar. Below this the blade curves slightly downwards at at the concave edge there is a circular hole butting up to the collar and causing the edge to project outwards slightly. Late iron age or Early Roman rim sherd, 70mm long and 38mm wide. The sherd is in fair condition with agrey patina and weighs 23.91 grams. The fabric is buff with a dark grey surface, with small irregular quartz and mica inclusions, The fabric may be a Lower Nene valley type.

A varied selection of late iron age and Roman pottery was recovered by fieldwalking from the Hallaton Villa site. Finds included a very large shelly tegula tile, possible imbrex and other building material. Pottery included a Samian cup base (see leic-5F82D4), Nene Valley colour coat, a mancetter Hartshill Mortarium, oxidised colour coats, greyware, shelly wares and grog tempered wares, including iron age material.
