Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Leicestershire

Undated lead object, 42mm long and 38mm in diameter. The object is in fair condition with a grey patina and weighs 378grams. The object consists of two slightly flattened spheres which are joind by a short circular sectioned shaft. The spheres are slightly mis-aligned so the gap is larger on one side, this may be a deliberate functional attribute. The object is reminiscent of a pulley, but it is most probably a weight of some sort.

Record ID: LEIC-9F1BF3
Object type: RING
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Leicestershire
Workflow stage: Published Find published
A thin gold ring shaped object, with ornate spiralled design and oval lilac stone setting. Dark areas indicate that this object could consist of gold leaf over another material. This may not have originally been a finger-ring; the material is extremely thin, too thin to conceivably be used to construct a finger-ring. It is indicated that the item has been straightened and glued, making identification difficult. The object is not in its original state and so identification in the current condition could be misleading and therefore there is no evidence to date to pre 1711.
